ABOUT THE JOB:
Position : Marketing and communication intern
Dates : 3 – 5 months (Starting November/Dec 2019)
- Creates a plan for gaining customers and engaging target market
- Creating quality content (photo, video, visuals/graphic design) and new marketing ideas for social media (Instagram, Facebook) suiting our branding and philosophy that will attract new customers and engage brand awareness
- Researches client base to find new customers
- Generate sales revenue with new and existing clients
- Craft and send regular newsletters with company updates
- Has great technical and creative writing skills. Translating our brand mission and ethos into thoughtful messaging.
- Contact magazines, blogs, journalists and influencers for publications.
- Documenting all of your lead and sales data
- Making sure the company is Search Engine Optimized to maximize inbound sales opportunities
- Research suitable events, fairs and pop-ups to attend
ABOUT YOU:
- Minimum 2-year college degree, preferably Masters
- Excellent command of the English language
- Demonstrable experience in marketing and sales together with the potential and attitude required to learn
- Knowledge and passion for contemporary (fashion) design, trends, basketry, branding and hand made products
- Interest in Cambodia, women’s empowerment and artisans
- Strong organizational skills, project management and attention to detail.
- Working independent and willingness to pitch in when needed.
- Ability to adapt to new cultures and simple living conditions.
- Perfect experience in computer programs; Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Word, Excel
MANAVA
Social enterprise/company MANAVA is working closely with rural artisanal Cambodian women. Together they create quality hand-woven rattan products, such as bags and baskets. Our goal is to support our team of artisans with a stable and financial future. We do this by providing them a fair income, offering quality level weaving training and providing life skills education. Ka-Lai Chan, the co-founder of MANAVA has almost 10 years’ experience as a product designer. She worked for renowned International design brands, hotels and museums.
Please note that this is an unpaid position. As a small social enterprise we are not able to offer a compensation. This means the flight, accommodation and others will be on your costs. We do provide pick-up service from the airport, a bicycle you can use during the internship period, visa advice, a reference letter and an amazing, adventurous time!
