國際漫畫校園大賽2021

活動簡介


The comic, manga, illustration competition 2021 aims for talented students around the world. Winners of the contests are eligible for cash prizes, digital creation software, pen tablets, and more importantly, opportunities to be featured on media!  Furthermore,  participants may have chances to meet with professional creators who can help you elevate your skills by critiquing and judging your works. Many categories are available for you to choose from and there are tons of opportunities provided for you to win the prizes! We look forward to your application!

Eligibility

Applicants must be students aiming to debut as a creative professional, for example, as a manga artist or illustrator, at the time of application. A teacher must register on behalf of the school or program in order for students to be eligible. 

 

Categories and Submission Criteria

Entries will be accepted for the following six categories:

  • Comic Category (Color): 

    • An original color comic for all ages (8-16 pages, including cover).
    • File Formats: PNG, JPEG, CLIP (CLIP STUDIO format), less than 32MB per page
    • You can create your comic in any size, but 300 dpi resolution for color comics and 600 dpi for black-and-white works are recommended. 

 

  • Manga Category (Color/ B&W): 

    • An original black-and-white or color comic/manga for all ages (8-16 pages, including cover).
    • File Formats: PNG, JPEG, CLIP (CLIP STUDIO format), less than 32MB per page
    • You can create your comic in any size, but 300 dpi resolution for color comics and 600 dpi for black-and-white works are recommended.

 

  • Bande Dessinée Category (Color): 

    • An original bande dessinée for all ages (8-16 pages, including cover).
    • File Formats: PNG, JPEG, CLIP (CLIP STUDIO format), less than 32MB per page
    • You can create your comic in any size, but 300 dpi resolution for color comics and 600 dpi for black-and-white works are recommended. 

 

  • Webtoon Category (Color): 

    • An original webtoon for all ages sized 800 x 40,000-72,000 pixels (or a height ratio of 50 to 90 for an image 800 pixels or less when the width is set to 1). Template is available here: https://pse.is/3car7k 
    • File Formats: PNG, JPEG, CLIP (CLIP STUDIO format), less than 32MB per page

 

  • Storyboard Category: 

    • A 4-8 page monochrome manga, comic, or webtoon drawn according to the supplied storyboard text.
    • You can edit the storyboard text (lines, characters, etc.) as needed.
    • File Formats: PNG, JPEG, CLIP (CLIP STUDIO format), less than 32MB per page

  • Illustration Category: 

    • An original color illustration for all ages
    • Format: PNG or JPG format, less than 5MB.
    • There are no size restrictions, but A4 sheet, 300 dpi (2480 x 3508 pixels) is recommended.

 

How to Apply

Before applying, a teacher must register on behalf of the school or program in order for students to be eligible. The student must enter the school ID (as provided when registering) to submit their work.

 

  • Participant School Registration

    • Please enter the school name, type of school, teacher’s name, e-mail address, phone number, school website URL, school’s logo file (optional) in the application form. A School ID will be sent to you via email. It may take around 5 working days for the registration to be acceptable. For confirmation, please also attach a copy of an identification form to prove your status when applying, such as your business card, teacher identification card, or other documentation.

  • Application for Comic / Manga / Bande Dessinée / Webtoon Categories

    • Students need to submit their works using School ID

    1. Create an account on Clip Studio (link: https://pse.is/3d8cpw )
    2. Upload your comic to Clip Studio SHARE. (link: https://pse.is/3dpffz )
      • When uploading to Clip Studio Share, please use the following settings:
      • Visibility: Lock with a secret phrase. Please send us the secret phrase when submitting your entry.
      • Comments: Turn off commenting
    3. Fill in the application form below and enter the URL of the entry published on Clip Studio SHARE. (School ID is required) (link: https://pse.is/3chkxr )

 

  • Application for Illustration Category

    • Students need to submit their works using School ID

Submission details

  • The artwork can be made traditionally or digitally, and can be created using any tools or software. Please make sure to submit the digital form for the application. (Paper submissions will not be accepted) 

  • No requirements for languages used in your artworks. (However, English will be preferred.)

  • Entries will not be publicated until the final judgments are announced.

  • For Comic, Manga,  Bande Dessinée, Webtoon categories, please upload your work to Clip Studio Share to apply.

*** For those who do not have any access to drawing tools, participants can get a free three-month Single-device plan for Clip Studio Paint EX. A teacher must first register the school or program so that students can apply for the special offer. Participating schools will receive an email with information on how to apply. Rules

  • Submissions must be unpublished, original artworks that have not won other contests and must be suitable for all ages. If the works have been published on social media or art-sharing sites, there is no need to delete them. Otherwise, please refrain from submitting or publishing until the examination results are announced.

  • Works are not eligible for submission or judging if they are:

    1. not suitable for all ages

    2. infringing on copyright or intellectual property

    3. offensive or objectionable content

    4. deemed inadmissible by the organizer.

    • In such cases, the reasons for exclusion will not be given.

  • The art works and the comments by judges and sponsors may be published on the organizer's website. The winning entries may be used in promotional materials for Celsys, Inc. and collaborating companies, and the text may be translated into different languages to present the art works to international audiences. Supporting companies may also contact participants for permission to display the artworks on their media. A participants’ name, age, email address, and school may be shared with these entities. To be eligible to receive awards, you are required to write a consent agreement, which includes responding in good faith to communications from the sponsors. Winners’ addresses will also be shared with sponsors for the purpose of shipping prizes. We appreciate your understanding of these rules when submitting your works.

  • If you are digital artists and winners of the Comic, Manga, Bande Dessinée, or Webtoon categories, please provide the data with separate layers so that we may translate your comic.

  • A single application may submit multiple entries. If all the creators are students, joint works may be submitted. Please choose one student to be the group representative and submit the entry. This representative will be responsible for any operation with your artworks (such as sending winning awards, etc.) within the contest.

  • Entries that do not meet the contest rules/conditions, such as contestants who don’t register with a participating institution, will be accepted in the Free Category.
